Alternative Spas | Head to Berlin’s Only Techno Spa

This is how chilling in the German capital goes down

You might not know it, but Berlin is actually a great place to chill. There are endless inner-city and suburban lakes to swim in and the whole city is a cyclist’s dream. But a new, straight-up pursuit of pleasure in Berlin is a bit different: Liquidrom is a concrete and stone architectural dream and home to the city’s only saltwater pool where DJs spin, meaning you bathe in both liquid and sound. Where spas are often a place for solitude and silence, Liquidrom encourages a social vibe; it’s also a great place for a date.

Partygoers flock here for a radical, multi-sensory spa experience away from dancefloors. Underwater lights and colour complement ambient electronic surround sound in the main, moonlight-bathed pool, leaving you in a glowing state of wellbeing. The place is home to one of Berlin’s most sophisticated soundsystems and weekly DJ sets where the likes of Depeche Mode perform electronic instrumentals while you float in water.

The healing properties of salt water is nothing new, but you won’t have experienced it like this. And beyond the softly-lit dome lies the incredible Himalayan salt crystal sauna (one of three). Finish off your night by indulging in a hot stone or Balinese herbal massage.

Sip a freshly-pressed juice instead of a cocktail and leave Liquidrom the other kind of exhausted. Or just take your replenished body straight to the nearest club.
